Words: "Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. The winds will blow
their freshness into you, and the storms, their energy. Your cares and tensions will drop away like the leaves of autumn."
- John Muir

C2K history: This will be my fourth C2K having podiumed each time the past 3 years. A second placing in 2006 followed by two third places in '07 and '08. Best memory would have to be my first finish. A long slow and very painful Charlottes Pass - Summit return which made the accomplishment all the more rewarding. Oh and the breakfast and presentations at the Jindy hotel are pretty damn good too. :)

The story

There's something very special about this race. A love / hate relationship. I love the sense of journey; point to point, sea to summit; it's a classic challenge. I hate the last 50kms on bitumen. I love the final climb to the summit, I hate the return on smashed quads. Last year I was on target for a good time when the weather turned. Upon hearing the race was stopping at Charlottes I guess I lost focus and wound back the effort. This year I would like to push for a time more reflective of capability. I have the best crew who make running this thing really effortless logistically. Glad to be back again pushing for a 4th finish.
