The story
The first year I crossed the C2K finish line I cried with joy. A life long goal had been achieved. But there was also a sadness in that moment for it was the journey that matters and that journey was over. I then struggled with motivation in 2008 but managed to finish in the worst weather I have ever experienced. Sitting at the breakfast with my hat on, surrounded by all the other runners and crew, I realised that these people shared a moment that was magical; we were bonded by an extraordinary experience; we were family. It was at then I knew that I would be here every year for as long as my body could still put one foot in front of the other. I love this race. It is the fire that burns in my belly and keeps me running all year. After each race I have to go back to normal life but for a brief moment I touch the sky.
