C2K history: Happily two finishes.

Best memory is racing Ron Schwebel over the last 3ks in 2007. What could be better than dragging a race out of the body after 240kms. It felt like we were going really really fast but I'm sadly told we hit the giddy heights 7+ min/kms.

Carrying the umbrella in the electrical storm in 2007 was a bit of a laugh. People thought I was crazy but the storm was well gone

This race has the best community atmosphere because of the attending armada of crew vehicles and army of crew who are willing to help everybody. This hangs on for a long time until runners thin out. This may not happen as much this year should the field be significantly larger.

After a toilet stop at Big Jack Mt last year and having the odd couple ie Tim and Whippet, disappear into the distance, then reeling them in and finally catching them with the urgings of Joe Boon to finally witness the rainbow at night was a high point.Most people ran without lights as the full moon allowed stealth running.

Crew is important. Ann is a hard task mistress and she won't be there this year but I reckon she'll have her eye on the race. Not finishing was never an option for her. Joe pushed me harder in places than I would have liked from 100kms to Dalgety.

And to finish off the weekend, the breakfast has the stories and the all around high of people who have achieved their goal.

Sadly for some, that may not be so.
